About Us

Wanda Harland was opened in Jackson Street Petone in 2007 by Martha Craig and Glen Barris.

Here's a picture of us looking uncharacteristically sporty during lockdown.

Our ranges are cool and confident, they're timeless and of excellent quality. We value our relationships with our wonderful customers and want you to have an enjoyable time when you're visiting. Our staff are interesting and dynamic, with a love of clothing but are absolutely not allowed to be pushy sales people!

We've always had a strong environmentally friendly ethos. We use compostable packaging for orders in store and online, and encourage you to use your own bag when you pop in.

We try to ensure our products come from ethical producers, and are working towards more sustainable practices and relationships in everything we do. 

Glen has since trained as an architect, but is still kept busy as brainstorm partner and general handyperson around the stores.

Shipping, returns and refund policy

Orders over $99 are delivered FREE in New Zealand by courier. Orders under $99 incur a $5 courier fee.

How  long will my order take? 

Orders are mostly sent the next working day after the order is received. If there are any delays expected you will be contacted.

Do you ship internationally? 

We ship to Australia for $35. If the package weight exceeds 2kg this price will be higher, and we will contact you to arrange payment. Please choose carefully, returns are at your expense and you will need to pay for redelivery if sizing is incorrect or you change your mind. We're happy for you to contact us for sizing information sales@wandaharland.co.nz. We us DHL. We cannot guarantee delivery timeframes because of factors such as customs, but we do dispatch promptly, and they offer speedy service.

Refunds, exchanges and returns

We want you to be happy, and we’re happy to exchange any item. We do not offer a refund for change of mind. If you need to know accurate sizing information please contact us before purchase, we will give a store credit or exchange but we do not offer a refund on purchases.

If an item is faulty we are happy to offer a full replacement. Please contact us promptly if this is the case.

On sale/clearance goods the sale is regarded as final. Exchange is at our discretion and items must be returned within 3 days in this instance.

Where does the name “Wanda Harland” come from?

Martha had a tooth fairy called Wanda, and was going to be called Harland if she’d been a boy. The name Wanda Harland stuck when she was flatting in the biggest party flat the world has known, and faux names were bandied about freely.

Payment methods

We currently accept secure credit card processing hosted by DPS, credit card via Paypal and bank deposits. There are no surcharges for any payment method.


All prices are in New Zealand dollars. 

Do you gift wrap?

Yes we do! We can gift wrap and attach a message card at no extra charge. There is a special place in the shopping cart to write your message or you can leave it as a comment, or just flick us an email with the details (sales@wandaharland.co.nz). We do not send a receipt when gift wrapping has been requested, so please let us know if you require a receipt. 

Can I pick up from your shop?

Yes absolutely, there's an option in the shopping cart to select pickup.
