I can buy myself flowers

by Martha Craig

Somewhat related to my last post is my latest fixation, flowers. We have 3 acres in the Wairarapa and a decently sized section at our home, so gardening is always top of mind.

Garden design is an absolute fixation, but also very much something that doesn't come naturally to me. I can admire other people's gardens for hours, but that doesn't manifest in any aptitude whatsoever for working out layout. I do have buckets of enthusiasm though, so I'm taking a deep dive into learning how to grow flowers.

We've built a little greenhouse at our home, and I've spent many happy hours watching flower farmers on Youtube and sewing lots of seeds. All this may realistically amount nothing given my absolute lack of experience, but just thinking about it all is giving me lots of joy.

Hopefully in a couple of months we might see some of my home grown blooms for sale outside Wanda Harland.
